Loop Solo Office Phone Booth Trial

Dec 14, 2023

We were fortunate to have received a Loop Phone Booth in our Des Plaines, IL open office space to evaluate for a few weeks. Designed for private conversations and concentrated work escapes, this soundproof pod promises to reconfigure traditional workspaces. We solicited feedback from the CDA team through a targeted survey of staff to get our team’s observations on the product’s features and benefits. Below is a summary of the survey results from our team.

Comfort Triumphs

A resounding 82% of users found the phone booth remarkably comfortable, attesting to its thoughtful design and ergonomic considerations.

Usage Prowess

Opinions on regular usage were evenly split at 50-50. Enthusiastic adopters praised the booth's unique benefits and features.

Glowing Overall Rating

A stellar average rating of 3.9 out of 5 showcases overall satisfaction among users. Notably, a significant 75% gave a commendable 4 rating, reinforcing the product's positive reception.

Seamless Integration into the Open Office Ecosystem

A staggering 90% of users championed the idea of permanently integrating the phone booth into our open office concept. This resounding approval signifies a paradigm shift, emphasizing the importance of private sanctuaries within collaborative workspaces.

Single-User Booth Triumphs

The majority (58%) favoring the single-user booth aligns perfectly with the widespread desire for personal space and moments of respite within our vibrant workspace, with the other 42% saying they would prefer a larger model for group meetings, such as Loop’s 4-person pod called the Cube.

“We build office pods for companies who believe in good design. Everything from aesthetics and style to features and functionality, our goal was to create a product that makes a statement while meeting the needs of a contemporary workplace. Chipman Design Architecture embodies these same values, which is why it we were so excited when they wanted to add a Loop Phone Booth to their space. Having visited their Chicago location in person, our Loop Solo fit right in with their forward-thinking approach to design.”

User Feedback Highlights

Beyond statistics, the user feedback unveiled nuanced insights that add depth to the overwhelmingly positive response.

1. Acoustics and Lighting: Users lauded the soundproofing capabilities, with only a minor echo mentioned. The lighting was named as a standout feature.

“I liked the convenience and the acoustical isolation. Great for concentrating and nice to get away from your desk for a while.”

2. Ventilation Excellence and Intuitive Timer: Positive sentiments on ventilation were accompanied by kudos for the timer that automatically turns off after 45 minutes. This innovative feature ensures energy efficiency and aligns with modern work patterns.

“Air flow is great, and it seemed cooler than the outer environment.”

3. Single-User Booth Ergonomics Brilliance: While a few team members found the booth snug, the overwhelming majority appreciated its ergonomic design.

“I did feel like I was able to have that (a) conversation, with a level of privacy even while I knew others could see me through the glass.”

4. Door Mechanism Intricacy: A few users noted a challenge in opening the door, which, while valid, helps to contribute to the Loop’s sound attenuating environment.

“A lot of people thought there was some type of mechanism to open the door because it takes a good pull to open it. Overall, I found it a good alternative to having some conversations out in the open at your desk.”

Conclusion:

The Loop Solo phone booth doesn't just offer a solution; it acts as a catalyst for positive change in our workspace dynamics. With overwhelmingly positive feedback and a commitment to ongoing improvement, we anticipate exciting and continuous product developments from Loop.
