Puttshack partnered with Chipman Design Architecture to expand and reimagine its Chicago corporate office in River North, growing from a partial floor into a two-floor workplace that better supports the brand’s continued growth. Building on a successful collaboration across multiple entertainment venues nationwide, this project marked Chipman Design Architecture’s first engagement within Puttshack’s corporate environment.
The design balances energy and functionality, reflecting the brand’s distinct identity while creating a more effective workplace. An open office layout presented both opportunity and challenge, requiring thoughtful strategies to maintain collaboration while improving comfort and acoustics. Chipman Design Architecture integrated acoustic solutions directly into the lighting design, using custom fixtures to help manage sound without disrupting the openness of the space.
Material selections draw from industrial influences, incorporating exposed elements and warm textures that reference both the surrounding neighborhood and Puttshack’s brand language. Strategic use of color introduces moments of energy throughout the office, reinforcing the connection to the brand’s entertainment environments while maintaining a professional and focused atmosphere.
The expansion also provided an opportunity to introduce new layers of identity within the space, including naming strategies and design cues inspired by Puttshack’s signature courses. These elements create a sense of familiarity and cohesion between the corporate office and the guest-facing environments.
