Puttshack partnered with Chipman Design Architecture to bring its tech-driven, high-energy mini golf concept to St. Louis, as part of a broader collaboration spanning multiple locations across the country. Building on experience from prior projects, the team translated the brand’s immersive, nightlife-inspired environment into a new setting within the City Foundry redevelopment, transforming a former industrial space into a dynamic entertainment destination.

Located within an adaptive reuse of an abandoned steel facility, the project required balancing the character of the existing structure with the energy and precision of the Puttshack brand. Chipman Design Architecture worked closely with the team to preserve key industrial elements while introducing new materials and finishes that elevate the overall experience. Exposed structure and original building components are paired with rich wood millwork, layered lighting and jewel-toned accents, creating a strong contrast that feels both intentional and engaging.

The scale and texture of the space informed the design throughout, with remnants of the original facility incorporated into the experience to create a clear sense of place. Signature features further reinforce this identity, including a large custom light fixture anchoring the central bar, which required careful structural and mechanical coordination within the existing building. Exterior signage and lighting were also integrated to establish a strong presence within the surrounding development.

Across its work with Puttshack, Chipman Design Architecture has developed a consistent approach to translating a technology-forward entertainment concept into physical environments that balance operational performance with guest experience. The St. Louis location builds on that foundation, creating a layered and adaptable space that brings new life to an industrial landmark while supporting the brand’s continued growth.
