Guzman Y Gomez
Naperville, IL
Guzman y Gomez looked to introduce its Australia-based restaurant brand to the North American market, requiring a thoughtful translation of an established international concept into a new operational and regulatory environment. Chipman Design Architecture supported the brand’s entry by adapting its restaurant prototype to align with U.S. building codes, accessibility standards and material availability, while maintaining the integrity of the original design intent.
Working from the existing brand framework, CDA developed a layout that supports both dine-in and high-volume service models, including drive-thru, delivery and curbside pickup. The design incorporates a range of seating options to accommodate a diverse customer base, while maintaining a clear and efficient customer journey throughout the space.
Material selections and design features reinforce the brand’s identity while responding to local context. Elements such as a custom mural, integrated green wall and layered interior finishes create visual interest while also supporting wayfinding and queuing within the restaurant environment.
